On March 25, 2024, Barbara Adams, 76, returned home galloping the hilly meadows and fox hunting forests.
Barbara was born in January 1948, in Spangler, Pennsylvania, to Francis Leo and Elizabeth Elouise Kaczkowsky (Kasko). She spent her formative years in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, chasing her dreams of becoming an Olympic equestrian athlete and a renown horse professional. She attended college in England where she achieved an equestrian Pegasus endorsement to become a nationally known instructor. She qualified for the 1976 Summer Olympic Equestrian Team in Montreal, Canada. In Barbara's later years, she brought her equestrian passion and instruction to Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was the forefront of the equestrian therapy program for children and adults with impairments, along with coaching the Special Olympics Idaho Equestrian Team for several years.
In her off time, she was a saucy being with a charismatic sense of humor, contagious laugh, and genuine smile, while showing compassion for others. She often made friends by sharing her popcorn, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and sharing her horse adventures with anyone who was willing to sit and listen.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (George) Loyd; granddaughters, Brittney Higbee and Kyndal Ricks; 5 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Kevin, Frank (Sarah) and Keith Kasko.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her first love, Karl Gitschlag.
